Types of Information
On the Internet, collected information is defined as being either anonymous or personally identifying:
Refers to information that cannot be tied back to a specific individual. For instance, we may know that fifty thousand people visited our Web site today, but we do not know their names, where they live, or their date of birth.
Personally Identifying Information
Refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are such as your name, email address, or postal address. You may voluntarily give us some of this information when you sign our guest book, place an order or otherwise contact us.
Anonymous Information is Collected and Stored Automatically
If you do nothing but browse through our Web site, read pages, and/or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information is not personally identifying information. The following represent the types of anonymous information we automatically collect and store during your visit:
- The Internet domain (e.g., "xyzcompany.com" or "xyzschool.edu") and Internet Protocol address from which you accessed our Web site (an Internet Protocol or "IP" address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you are using the Internet);
- The type of browser and operating system you used to access our Web site
- The date and time you accessed our Web site
- The pages you visited; and
- If you linked to our Web site from another Web site, the address of that Web site.
We use this information to help us make our Web site more useful to visitors by learning about the number of visitors to our site, what interests they may have about our company and the types of technology our visitors use.
If You Send Us Personally Identifying Information
We do not track or record your personally identifying information unless you knowingly and voluntarily provide it to us. If you choose to provide us with personally identifying information via an e-mail, signing our guest book, or placing an order, we will record that information to respond to your message and to help us get you the information you have requested. We may from time to time supply personally identifying information concerning our users to unaffiliated third parties (including without limitation for the purposes of: (i) order fulfillment; (ii) products and services marketing; and (iii) offering sweepstakes, contests and other promotions). Aggregated information which is not personally identifying may be sold to third-party advertisers. We may also store and provide access to or make available personally identifying information to comply with a legal process, governmental rule or regulation, or to process and protect our rights and property.
